SELTZ at Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2025 | Cristina de Middel & Iván Forcadell
April 28, 2025
From September 18 to 21, Barcelona Gallery Weekend returns with a new edition, reaffirming its commitment to contemporary creation. Over four days, the city’s galleries will present exhibitions and special events that invite the public to discover new artists, explore diverse narratives, and forge fresh connections.
Double exposure at SELTZ: image, story and meaning
SELTZ by Ritter Ferrer presents a double exhibition program for BGW, delving into image-making, storytelling, and meaning in contemporary art.
Cristina de Middel – The Expósitas
Cristina de Middel showcases Las Expósitas, a reflection on orphaned images—those discarded for failing to fit a narrative. Inspired by the term expósitas, which refers to abandoned children, the exhibition reclaims the beauty of failure in a world obsessed with storytelling. These photographs break free from imposed interpretations and embrace chance.
Iván Forcadell – No Title
Iván Forcadell presents No Título, an exhibition that invites each viewer to assign their own meaning to the work based on personal experience. It explores themes such as tradition, the countryside, nature, community, folklore, life, and death—without imposing a fixed reading.
Two exhibitions that seek to liberate art from rigid narratives, allowing each image to find its own path and sparking a dialogue on uncertainty in art.
