AGGTELEK

Biography

‘AGGTELEK’ is the artistic project of Gema Perales (Barcelona 1982) and Xandro Vallès (Barcelona 1978). They currently live and work in Bali.

During more than 20 years of collaboration they have consolidated an artistic career recognised for its amusing irreverence towards the established and its deliberate deconstruction of the traditional canons of contemporary art in mass culture.

AGGTELEK's work captures and condenses the situations and sensations of the world we inhabit today in the form of painting, drawing, sculpture, installation or video art. His boundless visual appetite and obsessive need to create makes his work an extensive catalogue of reflections that give shape to a complete x-ray of today's society.

Since 2004 their work has been shown in art galleries, museums, biennials and art fairs all over the world, in cities like Berlin, Miami, Mexico DF, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona, in museums like MOCA (Los Angeles), Tapies Foundation (Barcelona), Stedelijk Museum Het Domein (Sittard) and they have participated in art fairs like Liste (Basel), MACO (Mexico DF), Shangart (Shanghai), Artebo (Bogotá), ARCO (Madrid), among others.
